Tree work, done the McKinney way
Tree work here comes with local rules that out-of-town crews often miss:
- The City's protection for larger trees, and its tree permits.
- HOA approval in communities like Stonebridge Ranch.
- Oncor's limits near power lines.
- The February-to-June oak wilt season.
- Emerald ash borer in Collin County.
Every job starts with those in mind. Our McKinney tree permit guide explains the City's rules in plain English.
How a job works
- Tell us about the tree. Call, or send a few details: what kind of tree, roughly how tall, and what's near it.
- Free on-site quote. A local crew looks at the tree, the access and the cleanup, then gives you a written price.
- Pick a date. The work is scheduled around you, and the quote spells out cleanup, hauling and the stump.
What to ask for on every job
- A written price that says what's included: cleanup, hauling, stump grinding.
- Proof of insurance. Any good crew will send its certificate before work starts.
- Proper pruning cuts. No topping, and no climbing spikes on trees that are staying.
- Oak timing. No oak pruning from February through June.
